Begin with liquids and light foods (jello, soups, toast, etc.). Progress to your normal diet if you are not nauseated. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited for 48 hours.
DO NOT take any sedatives, narcotics, or tranquilizers for 24 hours unless ordered by Dr. Beran.
2. MEDICATIONS:
You have been given prescriptions:
Lortab 1-2 tabs every 3-4 hours as needed for pain
Keflex 500mg every 8 hours – an antibiotic
Papaverine 150 mg twice a day – to keep your implant soft
Take the first dose on awakening.
If you drink any alcohol during the day or evening, skip the night dose.
Use your medication as directed and as needed. Take caution while walking and climbing stairs while taking medication, since some lightheadedness is not unusual. DO NOT drive or operate machinery while taking medication.
3. ACTIVITIES:
It is important that you rest at home today. Any sudden movement may cause dizziness or loss of balance. Therefore, have assistance or sit on the edge of the bed or chair for a minute before rising.
Do not make any important decisions, drive, or operate machinery for at least 24 hours after surgery to allow for full recovery from anesthesia.

You may return to work in
You may shower/sponge bath in days.
4. WOUND CARE:
A small amount of bright red blood is to be expected. Do not be alarmed. If you feel the amount is excessive, call Dr. Beran immediately.
Do not change dressings until seen in the office.
Keep dressings dry.
Change the dressings in 24 hours.
Apply Bacitracin ointment twice a day.
5. SPECIAL INTRUCTIONS:
Please follow any specific instruction sheet given.
Replace the bra strap after showering.
Do not wear a bra until seen in the office.
Sleep on your back.
Sleep with your head on two pillows.
Elevate your arms/legs above your heart.
